Combing cat rescue with refreshments, Mount Purrnon Cat Café and Wine Bar opened in Alexandria on August 1, 2020, and is the first business of its kind in Virginia. Our cat lounge provides a home-like environment for adoptable rescue cats until they find their forever homes. Here, cats get out of cages, develop and display their personalities, socialize, and are safe and loved until they are adopted. The separate downstairs area provides a calm space for guests to gather and grab refreshments, with proceeds going to housing and care for the cats.

With a location in historic Old Town Alexandria, Mount Purrnon celebrates early U.S. history! The café has free local reference guides, as well as history books in the cat lounge.

There is also free Wi-Fi and day/monthly passes for those who wish to telework from the cat café!
